Fibre Glass Lining for Inground Swimming Pools
Fibre glass lining of a concrete pool is a method of repairing problems caused by porous, leaking concrete. The lining is made in situ, and it can be left as a finished surface or with the correct preparation, it can be tiled over.
Lining a pool with fibreglass is expensive, but gives a long lasting and durable finish, it is impervious to the swimming pool chemicals and will completely seal the surface. Some bleaching may occur over time, but this will not affect the waterproof nature of the finish.
The fibreglass is made up from layers of glass matting and resin, that creates an extremely strong waterproof laminate. Its is very difficult for the engineers to get a completely smooth finish on the walls of the pool as the layers are applied by roller, prefabricated pools are made on a mould, making them very smooth.

The colour can bleach out of the top layer of the lining after a few years use, this can be quickly rectified by applying a layer of resin and then a new application of the coloured top layer |
